Originally created to document the personal stories of Holocaust survivors, the Ambassadors of Memory project has expanded to include filming and photographing Holocaust survivors as well as veteran soldiers’ stories for the benefit of future generations. It enables sci-tech students to gain insights into a critical chapter of the history of the Jewish people.
The Ambassadors of Memory project also includes documentation by Ethiopian students of the covert Ethiopian immigration missions known as “Operation Moses” and “Operation Solomon.” A publication of these interviews will be released during Israel's 60th Independence Day celebration.
All told, Ambassadors of Memory students strengthen their ties to their Jewish heritage, increase their respect for the older members of the community, promote Zionist values and enhance their sense of a united destiny for all Jewish people while making sure that the older generation’s voice is not forgotten.
