Build the Future of Israel

Eye-2-Israel

The dramatic growth of the Internet has greatly enhanced communication and information access. It has also spawned the growth of virtually delivered virulent anti-Semitic and anti-Israel propaganda which can be found on thousands of websites in dozens of languages throughout the world.

Jewish, Arab, Druze and Bedouin students from Israeli sci-tech schools act as pro-Israel ambassadors on the web. They surf the net to find and counter inflammatory content by challenging misinformation, presenting an Israeli perspective, promoting the existence of the State of Israel and defending against the hatred of the Jewish people.

The project, initiated by the network in cooperation with the Israel Foreign Ministry, places Israeli students from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds on the virtual frontline of Israeli advocacy. Students create online forums and engage in open, frank dialogue on politically sensitive issues like the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, giving serious yet respectful voice to their many perspectives and opinions.

Students participating in the program operate a multi-lingual site, writing in English, Arabic, Spanish, Russian and French and even correspond with Syrian youth.

Kholod Daher, a 14-year old student participating in the project, describes why Eye-2-Israel is so important to her: “As an Arabic speaking Israeli Druze, I want to show that I love my country and believe in its independence. I also want to contribute to the positive presentation of Israel by telling the truth about my great life here.”

The project is guided by the network’s belief that the actions of Israel’s motivated youth are the key to changing world opinion of Israel.

This is not just an innocent pastime. I believe I can make a difference. We have to remember that 700 million people surf the internet. Even if we reach a small percentage of them, it will have been
worth it.
