Morashot (Heritage)

Israel’s largest scientific and technological educational network believes that heritage and legacy significantly contribute to a society’s identity. It is only when we are truly connected to our own rich histories and traditions that we can begin to understand and accept others. This is the underlying belief behind the network’s newly initiated and unique Morashot (Heritage) Project.

The Morashot Project, developed for and implemented in the network’s Arab schools, aims to strengthen Arab identity and culture by using creative methodologies and innovative technologies.

In the first stage of this challenging project, Arab students delve into their own heritage and traditions; in the second phase, participating students learn more about the roots of Judaism. The third and final phase is comprised of joint activities between the network’s Jewish and Arab students.

A unique, bilingual website promoting the Morashot Project has been developed by the network’s Department for R&D and Training. The site features content, designed and created by teachers from participating Arab schools, that both enriches the study experience and promotes the program’s uniqueness to the wider public.
