Together with the “Mebereshit” movement, Israel’s leading educational network has initiated two unique programs, Yachdav and the “Israeli Journey,” a field trip aimed at strengthening national value content though hands-on experience and reinforcement of the students’ personal, Jewish and Zionist identity which in turn encourages social involvement in the community and country. The nationwide trip lasts six days during which the students get to know its landscapes and their heritage while volunteering their aid in a development town.
The Yachdav program is based on regular study activities held during the school year. The schools receive worksheets (developed jointly by the network and the Mebereshit organization) dealing with value-oriented issues such as social justice, mutual responsibility, the power of speech and more. Based on these worksheets, participating schools organize Batei Midrash events during the year, attended by teachers, parents and students.
